When the cold weather sets in, there is nothing better than a hot bowl of chili to warm you up from the inside out. And, I must not be alone as chili is actually so popular it has its own special day. February 27th is known and dedicated as National Chili Day.

But, who would have thought there are so many different, yet delicious, ways to make chili? Oh, my! Easy & Delicious Chili Recipes

My favorite way of making chili is in the slow cooker. It’s so easy to throw ingredients into a slow cooker and let it do all the work. Your house fills with the aroma of delicious food and at the end of a long day, you have a hot and tasty meal to enjoy.

And, what about the allusive “secret ingredient”? It is an argument among chili makers that goes way back. It seems everyone claims to have a special ingredient that makes their chili the very best. Well, I guess I will jump on the “secret sauce” wagon too. I recently discovered that adding red wine vinegar to chili really brings out the richness and depth of flavor. I’m using it in all my chili recipes and it is oh so good!

On the other hand, some people use chocolate as their secret ingredient while some others say to add beer! Who knew chili recipes could be so mysterious?! Ha!
