Golden Milk Recipe - Handmade Weekly (1)

I’ve been trying to cut back on my coffee consumption lately so I figured it was the perfect time to share my favorite golden milk recipe! While many rave about the anti-inflammatory benefits of this drink associated with the turmeric and ginger, I can honestly say that I drink it because I love the way it tastes. There is something about golden milk that is just so soothing and relaxing. It’s the perfect drink just before bedtime to help clear your mind and the best part is that it’s extremely easy to make.

My golden milk recipe uses all ground spices since I always have those stocked in my kitchen. I don’t always sweeten mine but when I do I use honey.

How to froth non dairy milk

Ok, let’s talk about non dairy milk for a minute. You can use any kind for this drink but let me tell you why almond milk is my favorite. Not just any almond milk though, the Silk 60 calorie one. I gave up dairy a few months ago and before that I made my own latte’s with 2% milk all the time. They were so easy to froth using my $15 Milk FrotherGolden Milk Recipe - Handmade Weekly (9) from Amazon. Then I switched to oat milk and couldn’t get it to froth for the life of my. I tried the 30 calorie almond milk and again, just watery bubbles. 🙁 For some reason though, the Silk 60 calorie almond milk froth’s up just fine. I can’t tell you why just that it works. I’ve also tried frothing macadamia nut milk and didn’t have any luck with that.

If you aren’t trying to froth use whatever type of milk you want!

My personal preference from a taste perspective ranked from favorite to least favorite is listed below.

  1. oat milk
  2. almond milk
  3. macadamia nut milk
  4. cashew milk
  5. soy milk
  6. coconut milk.

I hope that you enjoy this wonderful drink as much as I do. It’s the perfect drink to warm you up on a chilly day. If it happens to not be a cold time of year when you’re reading this, you’ll be happy to know that you can easily serve this chilled over ice as well.

The only downside to this drink is that the turmeric will stain EVERYTHING. Seriously, I mean absolutely everything. Be super careful making this if you have light colored natural stone counters like me.
