Jail Visitation Hours

Before scheduling a visit at the facility, it is recommended that you first confirm the inmate’s physical presence at the facility by reviewing Chatham County bookings here. The facility offers video visitation. To participate in video visitation, it is necessary to have internet access and a device with a webcam or front facing camera and headset. The cost for video visitation is 40 cents per minute or $8.00 for twenty minutes. The video visitation schedule is as follows:

• Unit 2A, 2B, and 2C has visitation on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit 4 has visitation on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit 5 has visitation on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit 6 has visitation on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit 7 has visitation on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit 8 has visitation on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit 9 has visitation on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Medical has visitation on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Jail Visitation Rules

People who visit the jail must abide by the facility’s visitation rules, which include the following:

• Visitors may not bring weapons into the jail.
• Hiding items for inmates may be considered a criminal offense.
• All visitors must possess a valid form of identification.
• All visitors who are under the age of 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
• Unruly, disruptive, or argumentative behavior are grounds for termination of that visit.
• Children may not be left alone; all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children who are unruly or left unattended will result in termination of the visit.
• Visitors may only bring a valid I.D. and keys into the visitation area.
• Cell phone usage in the visitation area or waiting area is now allowed and will result in termination of the visit.
• Visitors must dress appropriately.
• Visitors may not bring food and drink into the waiting and visitation areas.
• The facility may cancel visitation without notice.

The facility offers multiple programs to inmates. Programs include educational, literacy, and therapeutic courses, a basic life skills class, a work release program, and an HIV/STD risk reduction program. In addition, two Christian chaplain dorms provide spiritual support and pastoral counseling to inmates and staff members. Plus they’re always looking at building relationships with employers and community agencies so offenders have ongoing advice and opportunities when they leave the prison gates.
